Organic or Not: Let's Find Out!

"The test checks for differences in the nitrogen isotope composition of foods. Synthetic nitrogen fertiliser is widely used in conventional agriculture but forbidden in organic agriculture.

The researchers said their test detected differences in organically and conventionally grown tomatoes, lettuce and carrots. The results appear in the Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry."
