Organics at Hannaford and Price Chopper

"At Hannaford Supermarkets, the company is ramping up its organic line of products. Not only has the store increased its selection by 20 percent, the company has made the selections more visible -- at some stores, whole displays, for instance, are dedicated to organic canned vegetables.

At Price Chopper, the company last month announced an agreement with Wild Oats of Colorado that would bring about 1,000 health-food-type products to the store, including many organic foods.

Both stores have taken organic products out of the health food aisle. Both stores mark products on shelves with bright, hanging "organic" tags to make them easy to find."
