Spreading the Organic Love

"As cities grow and urban areas grow, farmers are getting pushed more and more to the outskirts and out into the country," said Greenling.com co-founder Mason Arnold. "And creating a community, a support system around them, keeping them local, keeping them in the community, I think is an important part of sustainability."

Greenling buys fresh organic produce from local farmers, combines that with other organic products and delivers them directly to customers' doors.

"You know, it takes lots of fuel to carry these things that can be produced locally," Arnold said. "It doesn't use any of that energy, as well as the organic aspect of it: no pesticides, no herbicides. All of that helps to repair the local environment, as well."
