Pesticides and Crop Growth Problems

"A U.S. study suggests many farmers who use pesticides to boost crop yield might be contributing to growth problems.

The University of Oregon study suggests the artificial chemicals found in pesticides -- through application or by exposure to crops through runoff -- disrupt natural nitrogen-fixing communications between crops and soil bacteria. Those disruptions result in lower yields or significantly delayed growth."
