"Growing up in the 1960s in a tea-totaling family in rural northern California's Lake County, Bob Blue never dreamed of a winemaking career. But while serving Uncle Sam in Germany, Europe's terrific wine, beer and food traditions struck a chord.

Back home, participation in the University of California-Davis' winemaking program launched his grape-growing journey. Today, Blue's abiding passion for the mysteries and joys of the grape continues as winemaker at Bonterra Vineyards, a leading producer of wines made from organically grown grapes.
