Funding Available for Organic Producers and Farmers Transitioning to Organic Agriculture

"The 2008 Farm Bill set aside 1.2 million dollars to assist certified organic producers and farmers looking to make the transition to organic agriculture.

The NRCS is now making those funds available to producers interested in expanding their operation or making it better.

The assistance that we provide is both technical on how to do things how to get it set-up for organic farming and also providing financial assistance to implement some of the conservation related practices related to organic farming. So we can help in both ways,” said David Schmidt, a District Conservationist with the NRCS."
