Green Paints Perform Well, Gain Popularity

"Green paints are becoming popular. For the first time, nearly all top-scoring paints had among the lowest levels of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) , according to tests of more than 50 paints by Consumer Reports.

The tests, published in the magazine's March edition, rate these paints as "very good" or "excellent" for single-coat coverage and finds that almost all contain no more than 50 grams of VOCs per liter, a fraction of the 380 grams once common in the most-used, low-luster paints."
