Owner of Cindy's Kitchen Protests Power Plant

"The boss of an organic food company has vowed to do whatever he can to pull the plug on a proposed power plant.

Ed Byers, owner of Cindy's Kitchen on Belmont Street, has spent $5 million on a new manufacturing plant on Industrial Boulevard — about 1,000 feet away from where Brockton Power wants to build a power plant.

“I will do everything in my power to make sure this plant does not come here,” said Byers, whose lawyers are looking at the legality of the proposed plant."
