Nigeria Loses $46bn to Organic Farming

"The Executive Director of Nigerian Export Promotion Council, Mr David Adulugba, has disclosed that Nigeria is losing over $46 billion in the world market on organic product.
The Council, he said, has identified this market to have a significant share in the billions of US dollars in the agricultural sector. All over the world, organic food grown accounts for approximately one to two percent of gross food sales. So many premiums are attracted to organic products that in Austria, organic farmers have been given incentives; experts expect 10% of all foods grown locally to be organic."
